Community Consultation Invitation

Cape St. Mary’s Community Consultation Event Invitation

I designed this poster for a community conservation consultation in Branch, Newfoundland about a nearby renowned ecological reserve: Cape St. Mary's. The style was selected to attract a variety of community members who feel connected to local wildlife and nature, and are knowledgeable about the ongoing conservation work.

I researched artwork popular in the region and wanted the audience to feel represented in the design similar to how their contributions and opinions will be represented and valued in the research and conservation initiatives.

Main mother map designed to be a starting point for visitors at Washington Square Park.

Animals, Industry and People
I wanted the community members to look at the poster and see themselves or something they recognized. Each animal featured is a local species. The bird cliff in the background is the iconic view point at the ecological reserve. I looked at photos of the neighbourhood which influenced my colour for the path selection, the fishing boats, the telephone poles and the homes.
